ATL Jacob has teased his upcoming single, which finds him rapping alongside a version of Quavo he says fans have not heard in a while.
The Grammy Award winning producer first hinted at the song on January 11, when a fan asked, “What’s the plan for ATL Jacob the Artist;” to which he simply responded, “ATL Jacob & Quavo 1/26” with a pair of looking emojis.
On Saturday night (January 20), he took to Instagram to share a black and white clip of himself and BRS Kash vibing to a track which appears to either be titled “RNS” or “Rich N-gga Shit.’ “Yoo @quavohuncho I just got the mix back on the song,” ATL Jacob captioned the post, prompting responses from a number of well known members of Atlanta’s Hip Hop community, including Quavo himself, who wrote: “what we doin.”
“@quavohuncho you came trimmmmm,” wrote Metro Boomin, before returning to the post with a series of flame emojis. TM88 and several others also felt the flame emojis were the best way to convey how they felt about the song.
Sharing the same video to X (formerly Twitter), ATL Jacob offered a more detailed caption: “I’m bringing back the Old Quavo [flame emoji] my brother vocals just landed.

ATL Jacob may be in a festive mood this weekend, but he closed out the week with some social media drama, thanks to a comment made in an interview about the very song that garnered his first Grammy, Future’s “WAIT FOR U” — which features Drake and includes a sample of the song “High” by Tems.
On Thursday (January 18), The Baller Alert Show shared a clip from an unreleased interview during which the Atlanta-based beatmaker reveals that the prevalent sample used on the hook did not happen easily.
“Tems wouldn’t clear the song,” he recalled about the track’s post-production phase. “So Future pulled in — his relationship with Drake was like, ‘Can you get the song cleared?’ So Drake had to call Tems and be like, ‘Hey man.’”
The joint went on to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and win Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
“I talked to her at the Grammys,” the Georgia native said about his collaborator. “Personally, I felt like she was a little irritated with the ‘WAIT FOR U’ song.”
Soon after the video began making the rounds, the singer’s manager Muyiwa Awoniyi deemed the story false in a series of social media posts.
“Every single word uttered here is untrue,” he captioned the aforementioned video on Twitter. “You even made up scenarios that never happened. It is shocking how someone can be so bold yet so wrong. Highly disappointing , do better @atljacobbeatz.”
On his Instagram Story, Awoniyi added: “Please, if @atljacob is your friend. Kindly advise him to stop going on interviews and LYING up and down on a topic he is clearly clueless about.”
He later wrote: “We cleared the record immediately. Got no call from drake and lastly had no such convo at the Grammys. Tems won’t reply you. But I have your time.”
While she remained out of the fray for most of the day, the Nigerian star had jumped in with her own response by nightfall.
Replying to Jacob’s comments on X on Thursday, Tems said sarcastically: “I LOVE THIS STORY. Look at the phrasing. Magnificent.”
The producer then denied speaking poorly about Tems, saying: “All this negativity coming to me … I got a $100,000 Wire transfer for Tems and her team to find me 1 time I Spoke Negatively about her.”
She then responded: “Its not about saying anything negative STOP TELLING LIES. I’ll give you 1 million.”
