Busta Rhymes has announced that he’s returning with a new album very soon — and this time he’s bringing the whole Flipmode Squad.

The “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” rhymer took to Instagram in the early morning hours of Friday (March 8) to reveal that his crew, the Flipmode Squad, is getting ready to release their first album since 1998’s The Imperial.

“BRAND NEW FLIPMODE SQUAD ALBUM IS COMIN’!! 26YRS LATER!! STAY TUNED SHIT BOUT TO GET A DIFFERENT TYPE A DANGEROUS OUT THIS BITCH!! ALBUM TITLE COMIN’SOON!!!” he wrote in the caption, before previewing a new track.

See the post below.

The Flipmode Squad has had a number of members throughout the years. In addition to Busta Rhymes, the vocalists on their 1998 album consisted of Baby Sham, Rah Digga (both of whom Bussa Buss shouts out in the above video), Bus’ longtime hype man Spliff Star, Rampage, and Lord Have Mercy. The legendary DJ Scratch was also part of the crew and produced half of The Imperial.

In less-exciting Busta news, the rap veteran recently canceled his forthcoming Blockbusta Tour just days before it was set to begin.

According to USA Today, all shows listed on Ticketmaster were officially labeled “canceled” on the site.

The tour was set to kick off on March 13 in San Francisco and conclude over a month later in Busta’s hometown of Brooklyn on April 21.

HipHopDX reached out to Busta Rhymes’ representatives but have not yet heard back.

A number of fans took to social media to air out their frustrations with the cancelation, with one writing: “Damn Busta Rhymes wtf why’d you cancel your tour I was gonna take my mama to that for her birthday.”

“Busta Rhymes cancels all 2024 Blockbusta tour dates a week before kickoff. I guess he didn’t think the nonsense would catch up to him. I guess he thought wrong,” another person wrote.

The planned North American trek was in support of his 11th album Blockbusta, which arrived in November. The 19-track project was executive produced by legendary producers and longtime collaborators Pharrell, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

On the mic, Busta tested his mettle against many younger generation rappers including Young Thug, Kodak Black, DaBaby, Quavo, Coi Leray and BIA, among others.
