Lil Nas X has given fans an update from a wheelchair after he decided to run a half marathon wearing Coach sneakers.
On Sunday (March 17), the “Old Town Road” rapper participated in the New York City Half Marathon which is a total of 13 miles and he did it without wearing running shoes.
Lil Nas instead opted to wear designer Coach sneakers in a high-top style.
After the race, Lil Nas X was feeling the effects of choosing the wrong footwear as he spoke to his fans from a wheelchair.
In an Instagram Story he joked: “Well… the race went well. It’s giving race!” He followed up with a picture which he captioned: “Well at least I made it tuh.”
Check out the post and Nas X’s outfit below.
Lil Nas X finished the half marathon in 2 hours 32 minutes and 53 seconds. The rapper and singer had apparently never run more than three miles before and had also no prior experience of jogging outdoors.
It was also reported that Lil Nas did no training for the half marathon when most people put months of preparation into the event.
This isn’t the first time the Montero crooner has shocked fans but it is usually for his lyrical content and music videos than how he keeps fit.
He recently shared a snippet of an unreleased song which featured sexually explicit lyrics.
Posting the track on X, the lyrics went: “Grindr sessions sexing with faceless accounts/ Bringing bodies in me then sneaking them out/ Back in middle school I was fiending for dick/ 7th grade, sending my homies some pics.”
He also says: “Daddy never knew what I did as a kid/ He would’ve crucified me but trust me, I get it.”
Lil Nas also shocked fans when he portrayed Jesus in the music video for “J. Christ”.
He said: “I’m proud of my song and the video. Everyone expected me to be upset or something. But I’m a very spiritual person. I’m thankful that I get to even be in the charts and still be in the conversation. And I’m making new music and it’s been so long. So I’m grateful for that.”
