Drake Asks Canada To Expand Its Territory ‘Just This One Time’ Leave a comment

Drake has close ties with the officials in his home country of Canada, and he’s hoping to call on them for one not-so-minor favor.

Taking to Instagram with the request on Friday (February 23), Drizzy jokingly asked if the neighboring American city of Buffalo could be made into a province just for one day so that his hometown friends who can’t travel out of the country could see his upcoming shows.

“@canada can we make Buffalo a province for a day so my friends that can’t travel can come see me perform…just this one time,” he wrote with a carousel of photos from his current tour with J. Cole and Lil Durk.

The trek, dubbed the ‘It’s All A Blur — Big As The What?’ tour, will hit Buffalo next week with back to back dates on Tuesday (February 27) and Wednesday (February 28) at the KeyBank Center.

The tour kicked off earlier this month, after being announced last November. It’s currently set to run until April when it wraps up in Denver.

Drake appeared to take a shot at Rihanna during the opening show in Tampa after he refused to perform their collaboration “Work.”

Standing in a flying cage as the song started, Drizzy told the crowd: “I don’t sing this song anymore. You can sing it for me.”

The OVO hitmaker previously appeared to target Rihanna — who he was once romantically linked to — on his For All the Dogs album in October.

On the song “Fear of Heights,” he rapped: “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you?/ That could never be/ Gyal can’t run me/ Better him than me/ Better it’s not me.”

Appearing to reference her 2016 album Anti, he continued: “I’m anti, I’m anti/ Yeah, and the sex was average with you/ Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you.”

Drake’s outfit from the same show also caused a stir as he wore what appeared to be a dinosaur skeleton outfit.

The Toronto native has also previously teased taking the tour around the world, since only U.S. dates have been announced.

“I think I’m going to tour in Europe,” he said during a Kick stream in December, before clarifying it with more certainty. “Oh, that’s maybe an exclusive — yeah, oh, I’m definitely going on a Europe tour next year.”
