Hit-Boy reacted to the surprising song choice trailer for the new ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ spin-off TV series, ‘Knuckles,’ after the video’s official premiere on February 8, 2023.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the King’s Disease producer expressed his astonishment, after realizing that Crime Mob’s 2004 single, “Knuck If You Buck” is scattered throughout the trailer, writing: “knuck if you buck in the trailer is hard lol.”

Serving as the first single from Crime Mob’s self-titled debut album, “Knuck If You Buck” became an anthem for fistfights and altercations at parties throughout the 2000s.

In 2009, Pitchforkplaced the song at No. 381 of the “Best Songs of the 2000s,” and in 2017, Complexlisted the song as No. 7 in its “25 Rap Songs That Make Us Want To Punch Someone In the Face.”

“Knuck If You Buck” has maintained its position in popular culture since its 2004 release.

In the 2010s, an episode in the first season of Donald Glover’s Atlanta featured “Knuck If You Buck” in an episode titled, “The Club.” In the same vein, Zay Hilfigerrr & Zayion McCall’s 2016 single, “Juju on That Beat (TZ Anthem),” sampled Crime Mob’s nefarious single and eventually peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Knuckles” has proven to be made with hip-hop fans in mind, with Kid Cudi joining the cast as Agent Mason. When he broke the news last spring, the rapper claimed that he was living out his dreams by taking part in the legendary video game-film franchise.

Hit-Boy is known for his deep knowledge of hip-hop and his impact on the culture, most recently collaborating with The Alchemist for a collaborative EP, titled Theodore & Andre.

Both producers have already been having a stellar year, working together to co-produce Benny the Butcher’s new album, Everyone Can’t Go.

Delivering a never ending stream of top-notch music, Hit-Boy also fully produced Big Hit and The Game’s new joint album, Paisley Dreams.

The Game even went on to give Hit-Boy his flowers on Instagram after the album debuted at No. 1 on Apple Music’s Hip-Hop Rap Chart, writing “@hitboy I tell you all the time how proud of you I am & how much of a super producer you are but you’re far too humble to really see the magnitude of the story you’re creating for yourself.
