Kid Cudi’s new album INSANO (NITRO MEGA) had a troubled introduction to the world, according to the rapper.

Late on Thursday (February 22), Cudder took to X (formerly Twitter) to let his fans know that his label – Republic Records — was having issues uploading his project. Though the album is available now, those staying up until midnight to get an early listen were disappointed.

“Hey fam, the label fucked up and didnt start loading my album up in time, so it wont be out at midnight,” Cudi tweeted. “Im workin on this now in real time and my plan is that it comes out tonight just a bit later.

“Im waitin on a time and ima keep yall posted. Im thoroughly pissed, especially cuz i get this call just hours before its to drop. such bullshit, but i promise u this album is droppin tonight. So roll up, get a drink, binge a show, do something to pass the time, and then, WE RAGE. I love you.”

Fans were quick to support The Man on the Moon, promising to bump its predecessor, INSANO, until the new album arrived.

“All good Cudder, we ride the INSANO wave til then,” wrote one user. Another added: “you know we’ll be here! sucks you have to deal with the nonsense, but it’ll be worth it!”

Cudi fans hoping for some of his signature sad songs will be hard-pressed to find any on INSANO (NITRO MEGA).

Earlier this week, the rapper revealed an interesting tidbit about new music while answering fans’ questions about NITRO MEGA. Answering a query from one fan, the Cleveland rapper declared he is no longer making “sad songs.”

In response to a follower who asked if “there any sad songs” on his new project, Cudi responded: “No. I dont do sad songs anymore. Sorry.”

“Tortured was the last sad song i wrote 2 years ago,” he added, referencing his recent INSANO ballad. “We on some new shit now. We in the light. If ur not ready, I have about 9 older albums w that vibe u can still listen to [winking face emoji].”

Cudi’s announcement was met with mixed reactions, with one fan replying: “To remove sadness from your work entirely is like painting in black and white without any black paint. Can’t have happy without some sad.”

Another said: “Everyone respects the growth but the ‘sad’ songs arent to keep us down when we’re listening. Its some of the most inspirationally accurate music I enjoy listening to.”
