Lil Yachty Praises Guapdad 4000’s Freestyle With Teezo Touchdown Leave a comment

Lil Yachty is among the many admirers of Guapdad 4000‘s new collaboration with Teezo Touchdown, which borrows from Fabolous and Tamia‘s 2000s classic, “So Into You.”

Shared as part of his ongoing Freestyle Friday series on Friday (February 16), the song came with a visual that was also directed by Teezo.

I be tryna hate you more to move on faster/I’m still grateful for the lessons and the laughter,” Guap spits on the song. “Got a hard drive, ’cause I Mac then I cracked her/But since I pulled the plug, I upgraded past her.”

Teezo closes the joint out with a remixed version of the song’s original hook, singing: “I can’t explain it, what it’s like being famous/’Cause I still be hanging where I used to/ I can’t explain it, what it’s like being famous/’Cause I still be banging hoes I used to!”

In a follow-up post, Guap shared a DM from Lil Boat, who called the latest installment of his series “Amazing.”

Additionally, A-Trak also showed his support by commenting, “Keep going bro,” while Curren$y added: “Crazy,”

Smino also hopped in the replies and wrote: “nonstuap guap.”

In a post of his own, Teezo Touchdown thanked Guapdad for the opportunity with: “@guapdad4000 thank u for letting me get my 07 mixtape hook off and then shooting the video the same night.”

In turn, the Oakland rapper replied: “N-gga you turned into Mariah Carey.”

So far, Guapdad 4000 has also laid his bars over Keyshia Cole‘s “I Don’t Love You” (produced by Kanye West), the late Aaliyah‘s “Are You That Somebody” (produced by Timbaland, Childish Gambino‘s “Redbone” and more as part of the series.

As for Teezo Touchdown, the 31-year-old dropped the deluxe edition of his debut album last month, adding a triad of fresh cuts to the tracklist. How Do You Sleep At Night? With You adds “Up and Down,” “Out of Respect” and “Third Coast” to the acclaimed body of work.

The genre-blending artist, who was among HipHopDX’s Rookie of the Year nominees, will embark on his first headlining tour later in 2024.

This Spring, he’ll kickstart the Spend The Night Tour with five international shows — Amsterdam (03/21), Zurich (03/22), Paris (03/25), Berlin (03/26) and London (03/29) — after which he will return to North America for a 19-date run. Check out the full itinerary here.

The international trek is in support of his freshman LP, which Drake called “some of the best music ever” right before it dropped.

In August, the 6 God shared a series of photos to his Instagram hyping up the genre-bending artist’s project. In the post’s caption, he wrote: “Usually it’s a cut throat cryptic caption for the ones that turned on the gang members but tonight I just heard some of the best music ever so I am happy and I will spare you little birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown.”
