Megan Thee Stallion is turning to the Hotties for help with crafting her new album.
In an Instagram Live stream on Wednesday (April 3), the Houston rapper sought input from her fans regarding her upcoming project, admitting she’s struggling to decide what kind of direction she should take.
As a dynamic artist with different styles, Megan is still trying to figure out the balance between rap versus ratchet for this next release.
“How many songs do y’all wanna hear on this album? Because in my mind, I was thinking 14. But I keep recording songs that are so good. Like, I be in one mood one week and another the next week,” she said.
“I was like, ‘Damn, I need to rap my ass off.’ So the first 20 songs I had, I’m just straight rapping. And then I started being in a better mood and I was recording feel-good songs.
“And then I got in a ratchet mood ’cause you know it’s about to be summertime and we about to be outside, so then I started making some lil’ pop that ass music.”

Megan then admitted that she has lost “touch” with her musical roots after branching out in an effort to prove her versatility.
“I just remember how y’all used to really whack me for making pop that ass music, so I just really wanted to get on y’all ass and show y’all how bad I can rap,” she continued.
“So I really haven’t been in touch with my roots. So I’m tryna see if y’all tryna pop that ass… You don’t gotta worry about the rap-rap-rapping; I’ma do that anyway.”
While struggling to settle on an exact number of songs for the album, Megan teased releasing “an A side and a B side” to satisfy hungry fans.
However the album shapes up, fans will are likely to hear the songs this summer as Megan Thee Stallion is set to embark on the aptly-titled Hot Girl Summer Tour.
Announced last month, the 31-city international trek begins on May 14 in Minneapolis, with the North American leg wrapping up on June 22 in Las Vegas.
It then jets over to Europe for shows in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands in July.
Joining Megan on the road is fellow female rap star GloRilla, who has also a new project on the way.
The Memphis rapper is dropping a new mixtape called Ehhthang Ehhtang on Friday (April 5), and it conveniently features a guest appearance from her soon-to-be-tourmate.
Big Glo and Tina Snow treated fans to an early preview of the song, titled “Wanna Be,” on social media this week while twerking in the studio.
