ScHoolboy Q has opened up about losing Mac Miller on a new song, which is set to be featured on his upcoming album next month.

On Tuesday (February 6), the TDE rapper released two singles as part of his rollout for Blue Lips: “Blueslides” and “Back In Love” featuring labelmate Devin Malik. Both tracks, however, will be removed from YouTube after 24 hours.

“Blueslides” appears to be a tribute to the Pittsburg native, who released Blue Slide Park in 2011. On it, the Los Angeles MC raps: “Lost a homeboy to the drugs, man, I ain’t trying to go backwards/ But I realize that [shit?] hurts and think, ‘Was it worth it?’/ Man, I gotta shake this shit, wake up and move with a purpose.”

Listen to both previews below before they are taken down:

“Back in Love” pays homage to Father, KEY! and iLoveMakonnen‘s 2014 single,“Look at Wrist,” which went went viral when Drake showed his support for the track.

When a fan tagged Father in a social media post promoting the track, he responded “oh damn [gasping emoji].”

Q then joined in to confirm the decade-old hit’s influence with a fist emoji and added: “100 percent.”

KEY! got in on the action too, writing: “Man @ScHoolboyQ album finna change our life the homage is felt but really get in tune with what’s finna happen.”

Blue Lips is scheduled to drop on March 1. Q shared a trailer for the album via his website when he first announced the project, giving fans a glimpse at the tracklist in a 37-second video.

While guest artists were omitted, it was revealed that the LP will feature 17 songs, with titles such as “Time Killers” and “Germany ’86” — the latter being a nod to Q’s place of birth.
