Vince Staples has continued to live up to his “funniest rapper” title after making a viral joke about Lionel Richie.

On X, formerly Twitter, the Long Beach rapper once again showcased his comedic chops when he was asked by a fan: “Who’s your top 3 whites Vince?”

The rapper sarcastically replied: “Larry Bird, Meryl Streep and Lionel Richie.”

Vince’s answer had social media in stitches, with one commenter saying: “Lmao Lionel Richie you the funniest n-gga on this app [crying face emoji].”

Another user replied: “This is the funniest tweet I’ve ever read [crying face emojis].”

Staples’ tweet also sparked a bit of debate surrounding the white celebrities he snubbed, with some fans mentioning Tony Hawk, Steve Austin and Durk Nowitzki.

One person brought up Vince’s close friend and collaborator, the late Mac Miller, writing: “Please tell me Mac is in the top 5 at least.”

Vince Staples’ reputation as as a comedian was taken to new heights earlier this year when he was labeled “top 2 funniest n-gga in Hip Hop.”

Social media then began sharing a number of the rapper’s funniest moments, including a rant about Ray J’s unsung greatness and an unfiltered takedown of R. Kelly.

Others also called for the 30-year-old to have his own comedy show, while some said he should pursue a career as a stand-up comedian.

In addition to his sharp sense of humor, Vince Staples has received his props as one of the smartest rappers in the business.

Earlier this year, JAY-Z praised Vince as “one of the smartest, most creative rappers out there in the game right now,” according to Rap Radar Podcast co-host Brian “B-Dot” Miller.

In response, Staples said: “If I’m impartial to if people like it, I’m for sure impartial if you don’t like it. I feel like everyone’s entitled to their opinion. Once you put something out into the universe and you selling something, it’s okay for people to say if they like it or don’t like it.

“That’s not really why I make music. I don’t really care how nobody feel about nothing, to be 100 percent honest. I appreciate them listening and that’s as far as it goes like how people feel.”

Staples released his most recent album Ramona Park Broke My Heart last year and received wide acclaim.
