Chuck D Issues Grave Warning After Biden’s State Of The Union Leave a comment

Chuck D has told his followers to manage their expectations about their elected leaders, cautioning against expecting politicians to be saviors in the wake of the State of the Union address.

The Public Enemy MC made clear on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday (March 7) that it was more important to know about the issues brought up in the annual presidential speech than about any similar entertainment event.

“Pay Attention,” he began. “Understanding this State of the union right now is more crucial than any sporting event going on especially with elections looming in November. The divided country looks on these faces on this screen is sad ass comedy of a haunted terrain ahead either way. Making sports appear as important as someone else’s masterbation Pay Attention. Gonna be a lotta civil casualties no matter who you vote for.”

He continued: “When i say Pay Attention it doesn’t mean im making a assumption of who to vote on. I just tell folk stop voting for candidates and expecting them to be Jesus. They ain’t and you best to make them accountable and stop waiting for the news.”

While Chuck D is more pragmatic about politics, other rappers aren’t as optimistic about it.

Back in October, 50 Cent called out President Joe Biden for taking a vacation in the middle of the Israel-Palestine conflict, as well as the current chaos inside Congress.

The G-Unit mogul took to Instagram on October 22 to share a screenshot of a news article that read, “Biden hits the beach with Middle East, Congress in chaos,” alongside a photo of the President and his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, kicking back on a beach.

“hey Joe get the fvck up, we in trouble man!” 50 wrote sternly in his caption, demanding the President get back to work and help resolve these global issues.

But 50 Cent didn’t stop there. Later that day, he shared another photo of Biden on a sun lounger on the beach, writing: “We got some real shit going on out here Joe. what’s the plan to get a tan and chill come on now.”

50 Cent previously criticized Joe Biden in February for his $30 million Harm Reduction Plan, which proposed providing drug users with safe smoking kits and supplies to promote safe drug use and “advance racial equity.”

The Queens, New York native didn’t agree with the initiative and dragged Biden for the move.

“OK, I don’t understand what’s going on now,” 50 wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. “Let’s just give them some crack everybody loves CRACK. SMH.”
