Gunna Seemingly Addresses Lil Baby On New Song ‘Bittersweet’ Leave a comment

Gunna’s new single “Bittersweet” has fans speculating that the rapper may be addressing Lil Baby on the song.

On the track, released Friday (February 16), the Atlanta rapper seemingly extends an olive branch to his former Drip Harder collaborator.

“You my dawg, I don’t care if we fall out, I never could diss you,” Gunna spits early on in the song, which marks his first offering since his Biggest Comeback of 2023-worthy album A Gift & A Curse.

Although Gunna doesn’t specify who he’s talking about, fans online seemed to think the line was intended for Lil Baby, with whom he’s been at odds since last year.

“He is talking about Baby obviously. It’s so sad they fell out,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Word to mid baby,” another said, throwing shade at the 4PF rapper.

Someone else posted a photo of Ludacris checking his pulse and joked: “Lil Baby when he heard that line.”

Gunna and Lil Baby began sparring in June of last year following the former’s decision to take a plea deal in the RICO case against his and Young Thug‘s YSL collective.

After Baby was one of several rappers who unfollowed him on social media, Gunna seemingly fired back on his song “Bread & Butter,” accusing his former collaborator of switching up on him and even associating with a snitch.

“Peepin’ shit, I’m seein’ n-ggas fall back/ You bitch-ass n-ggas got me as the topic of the chat/ You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat/ And the boy that’s like your brother, and nobody speak on that,” he rapped.

“The city see it clearly if I had to state a fact/ You still fuck with a n-gga that done got yo’ partner wacked/ Had these n-ggas talkin’, only knew ’em ’cause of Slatt/ You rap boys need more streams, heard he put my name on wax.”

The “rat” line appeared to be a reference to the allegations against Lil Baby’s label boss, Quality Control co-founder Pierre “P” Thomas.

Baby later returned fire on an unreleased song where he rapped: “Pussy n-ggas taking pleas/ I know Slime ain’t happy.”

More recently, a video surfaced in December of the My Turn hitmaker referring to Gunna as a “rat” when their song “Drip Too Hard” began playing at a stop on his It’s Only Us Tour.
