Metro Boomin Sells Out Giza Pyramids Show In Less Than 15 Minutes Leave a comment

Metro Boomin fans in Egypt are so excited to see him that tickets for his forthcoming show at the historic Pyramids of Giza sold out in under 15 minutes.

The show was announced on Wednesday (April 3) through the famed producer’s social channels. Per an update he shared two days later, the tickets were quickly wiped out.

“Sold out the Giza show in less than 15 minutes!” he wrote on Instagram. “Excited to come to Egypt and perform in front of the Pyramids, it’s gonna be a special night to remember [fire emoji] #Boominati”

The tickets are now listed as unavailable on the purchasing website as well. The venue, Kundalini, is located at the base of the Great Pyramid of Giza, and has a capacity of between 1,450 and 2,700, depending on how it’s set up.

Travis Scott attempted to perform at the Pyramids of Giza last summer, but the concert was ultimately cancelled because of the rapper’s “strange rituals.”

Per the Egypt Independent, the General Syndicate for Musical Professions in the country made the call just 10 days before the show, saying that La Flame’s highly-anticipated summer performance would no longer take place due to safety concerns and his culturally-damaging beliefs.

“Since the General Syndicate is part of the fabric of this beloved country it is keen on its stability and refuses to tamper with societal values and Egyptian and Arab customs,” a statement by the organization read.

“Based on research and documented information about strange rituals at Travis’s concerts that are inconsistent with our authentic societal values and traditions, the Board of Directors has decided to cancel the license issued to hold this type of concert that contradicts the cultural identity of the Egyptian people.”

In an attempt to reverse the decision, Travis wrote a letter to local authorities that didn’t work as he wasn’t allowed to move forward with his plans.

As for Metro Boomin, the producer is currently basking in the glory of his joint album with Future, We Don’t Trust You.

A whopping five songs from the effort made it into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 tally for the chart dated April 1, with the Kendrick Lamar-assisted “Like That” reaching the No. 1 spot in the country.

Additionally, Metro and Future command the No. 2 spot with “Type Shit” featuring Travis Scott and Playboi Carti, the No. 6 spot with “Cinderella” that also features Travis, the No. 8 spot with “We Don’t Trust You” and No. 9 with “Young Metro” featuring The Weeknd.
