Usher is wasting no time following his explosive performance as Super Bowl LVIII, as he is already working on developing a new show based in the city that gave him his start in music.

On Wednesday (February 14), The Hollywood Reporter shared that the “OMG” hitmaker will be executive producing a new show in collaboration with Universal Studio Group’s UCP.

According to its logline, the untitled series is about “Black love in Atlanta and individuals looking to find a place to call home. The series will explore music, style, sex, romance and secrets that threaten to tear relationships apart.”

As of now, it is unclear if the Grammy winner’s songs will soundtrack the project or serve as the inspiration behind its plot line.

“My 30-year catalog has resonated with so many people no matter where they were in their lives,” the superstar said about his latest endeavor. “I’m happy to be working with UCP to bring the music to life. I hope the series resonates with you the way my music continues to.”

As for the romance in his own life, Usher followed through on his plan to get married after his massive Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. He and Jennifer Goicoechea tied the knot at a drive-thru service in Las Vegas following the colossal NFL event.

The couple has been together since 2019, welcoming their first child in 2020 and their second in 2021.

The 45-year-old previously spoke about the relationship and said: “I have an amazing partner, a support system. We have an amazing dynamic between our relationship where I’m able to be passionate still about what I do and have an incredible partner to work through some of the harder times as a young man dealing with children and dealing with the dynamic of how you communicate with them.”

He also praised her abilities as a parent, adding: “She’s better at it than me in many lights. I’m a man-man, so I’m like, ‘This is what we’re doing,’ and I might be a little bit more disciplinary at times. If there’s a slap and a hug, I’m the slap and she’s the hug. But that creates balance.”

Usher was previously married to Tameka Foster from 2007–2009 and Grace Miguel from 2015–2018.
